Michigan Legacy Art Park playlist
Inspired by specific works of art, Classical IPR chose pieces of music that we thought reflected the aesthetic of each sculpture.
See the sculptures and listen to the music below.
If you can, travel to the Art Park yourself and listen to the music while experiencing the sculptures in person.
Note: the work of art is shown first, followed by the accompanying audio file.
For the sculpture "Bonnet," we chose the fugue "Different Paths toward Home" from Mark O'Connor's Americana Symphony.
For the sculpture "Five Needles," we chose a duet for harp and guitar by Gary Schocker called "Hypnotized."
For "Sawpath Series no. 1," we chose Franz Liszt's piano transcription of Franz Schubert's "Wohin?"
For "Sawpath Series no. 4," we chose the Fire Aria from Maurice Ravel's "l'enfant et les sortileges."
For "Fallen Comrade," we chose William Bolcom's "Graceful Ghost Rag."
