Classical IPR is broadcasting the sounds of Interlochen this summer, and we want you to be a part of it!
Starting Monday, June 29, we'll share audio postcards from Interlochen camp alumni during our local broadcasts.
If you're an Interlochen camp alum or a member of the faculty or staff, we want to hear from you.
Send us your camp memory in a voice memo to classicalipr@interlochen.org or call and leave a message on our listener comment line at (231) 276-4444.
First, tell us who you are, when you were at camp and what you did while you were here. ("I'm Jane Smith, and I was an Intermediate Girls Cabin Counselor in the summer of 1956.")
Then, tell us your favorite camp memory. ("One night, when the sun was setting over Green Lake...")
These memories must be no longer than 60 seconds!
If we decide to broadcast your camp memory, we'll do some production magic and add camp sounds plus Howard Hanson's Interlochen theme. (That's why they can't be any longer than 60 seconds.)
Listen to this great example featuring our friend Gary Gatzke.
We hope to hear from you and to share your camp memory on the air as an audio postcard.
We'll let you know if and when we'll broadcast your camp memory.
Contact Amanda Sewell, IPR's music director, with any questions at amanda.sewell@interlochen.org or (231)276-4443.
Thanks to Eileen Ganter and Marc Lacuesta for support.
