Addy Sterrett is a soprano based in New York. She grew up in northern Michigan and graduated from Interlochen Arts Academy. She has returned to perform in the region this week.

Sterrett visited IPR’s Studio A to perform "Rosenblumen" by Richard Strauss with pianist Steve Larson. She talked about her eclectic interests in early music and in new music.

Addy Sterrett will give two performances in northern Michigan this week. On Sunday May 5, she’ll perform with the Cadillac Area Symphony Orchestra as part of their Locally Grown concert series. The concert is at 3 p.m. at the Cadillac High School Auditorium. Then on Monday evening, she’ll give a solo recital with pianist Steve Larson. The recital begins at 7 p.m. in the Old Art Building in Leland.

Brock Morman engineered this edition of Studio A.

Dr. Amanda Sewell is IPR's music director.
