In Studio A with composer Amanda Harberg and Interlochen faculty wind quintet

Amanda Sewell

The Interlochen Arts Camp faculty includes musicians and teachers from around the country. The faculty members come together in different combinations during the summer in chamber groups.

An IAC faculty wind quintet recently visited Studio A. Its members are Jennifer Parker-Harley (flute), Dane Philipsen (oboe), Douglas Moore-Monroe (clarinet), Henry (Hank) Skolnick (bassoon) and Josh Michal (horn).

The quintet gave a preview of Amanda Harberg’s Suite for Wind Quintet. Amanda Harberg joined them to discuss her piece. Hear the entire conversation and performance below.

The quintet will perform Harberg's entire Suite for Wind Quintet Wednesday, July 11 in the Dendrinos Chapel and Recital Hall at 8 p.m. Click here for more information about the performance.

Dr. Amanda Sewell is IPR's music director.
