Violinist Er-Gene Kahng is a professor at the University of Arkansas and concertmaster of both the Fort Smith Symphony and the Arkansas Philharmonic Orchestra. She has also taught and performed at the Bay View Music Festival in northern Michigan.
Er-Gene Kahng has just recorded the world premieres of two violin concertos by the American composer Florence Price. Kahng joined Classical IPR's Amanda Sewell to discuss how she came to know the concertos as well as the emotional challenges she faced when considering the consequences of being the first person to record them.
