Kids Commute LIVE: Food, glorious food!

Join the Kids Commute team and Interlochen Arts Academy Wind Symphony on Saturday, Oct. 16 for an afternoon of music and activities about FOOD!

Kids Commute LIVE is happening Saturday afternoon, Oct. 16, 2021 on the campus of Interlochen Center for the Arts.

Hosted by IPR’s Kate Botello, the 2 p.m. concert will feature the Interlochen Arts Academy Wind Symphony.

Special guests include actors from the Interlochen Arts Academy Theatre Division and student musicians from Traverse City East and Traverse City West Middle Schools.

The theme for this year’s concert is “Food, Glorious Food!” Hear music about food, farms and flavors. There may even be a kitchen utensil or two (or fifteen!).

Interlochen’s Matthew Schlomer will be the primary conductor, and TCAPS teachers Peter Deneen and Douglas Downer will also conduct pieces. The theatre students will be directed by Andy McGinn.

The concert starts at 2 p.m. in Corson Auditorium at Interlochen Center for the Arts.
