The World Youth Symphony Orchestra live from Interlochen Arts Camp: August 8, 2021

Interlochen Center for the Arts

This Sunday, Interlochen's World Youth Symphony Orchestra will take the stage of the Interlochen Bowl under the baton of Cristian Măcelaru.

Măcelaru will lead WYSO in person for the first time since assuming the role of the World Youth Symphony Orchestra's inaugural Artistic Director and Principal Conductor in 2019.

The concert program includes music of Anna Clyne, Huang Ruo and Igor Stravinsky.

After the intermission, all of the high school orchestra and wind symphony students will take the stage for Franz Liszt's "Les préludes."

This piece has closed every camp season at Interlochen since the very first summer, back in 1928.

Hear conductor Cristian Măcelaru's recent interview with IPR about the concert here.
