In Studio A with Andersen Howard, Nathan Meyers and Eden West

Kate Botello
L-R: Andersen "Capper" Howard (Euphonium), Eden West (Piano), Nathan Meyers (Euphonium)

The group performs a "viral" Bizet piece

The Interlochen campus is full of talented folks year-round, and summertime is no exception!

Quite a few summer staff have teamed up into performance groups, and we're featuring several in Studio A on Classical IPR.

Our second group:

Andersen "Capper" Howard (Euphonium): Andersen is a Unit Leader in Intermediate Pines this summer, studying Euphonium Performance at Indiana University. He loves to skateboard and play euphonium, but not at the same time.

Nathan Meyers (Euphonium): Nathan has worn many hats at Interlochen this summer. He went from doing camp prep to lifeguard to Unit Leader, and is now the Program Director at Intermediate Pines. He spent the last two years as an Instructor of Residence Life here at Interlochen.

Eden West (Piano): Eden, also a Unit Leader, is studying piano at the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor. She's won or made finalist in quite a few competitions, leading her to make her Carnegie Hall debut in competition at the age of sixteen.

The trio performed the famous Duet from "The Pearl Fishers" by George Bizet. They were inspired by a performance of Robert and David Childs at the BBC Proms, which they call "the most viral" euphonium performance!

This edition of Studio A was engineered by Stefan Wiebe.
