Our tower project has been completed in Emmet County.
That means WIAB-88.5 FM and WHBP-90.1 FM are broadcasting from their new location, and your reception should be greatly improved.
Thank you for your patience.
We moved to a new tower to reduce costs and offer better FM signals in that part of northern Michigan. Our costs will nearly be cut in half, saving us more than $25,000 annually in rent. Our analysis shows the new location will offer better FM signals to more people, a result we had to prove to the FCC to get permission for this move.
That said, this different location might result in the loss of reception for some people and we would regret that very much. The new location is just slightly south of the previous site.
If your signal is diminished, please know we are still ironing out some minor issues. Don’t hesitate to reach out. Ways to listen to IPR can be found here.
