Conductor JoAnn Falletta led the World Youth Symphony Orchestra at Kresge Auditorium for Week 5 of the 99th season of Interlochen Arts Camp.

Falletta conducted two pieces: the vivid "The Art of Sailing at Dawn" by American composer Margaret Brouwer, and the powerful, historically charged Symphony no. 5 by Dmitri Shostakovich.

Listen back to the performance and to Classical IPR's conversation and insights before and after the concert. Music Director Amanda Sewell was joined by members of Viridian Strings: Joe Skerik, Kyle Stachnik and Umi Garrett.

The broadcast included interviews with conductor JoAnn Falletta. Before the concert, Classical IPR's Christy L'Esperance took a ride on the new Encore Express shuttle with Campus Safety Supervistor Kevin Reynard.
