The Interlochen Arts Academy Fall Dance Performance will be presented this Friday and Saturday, September 26-27 in Corson Auditorium.
Joseph Morrissey, Interlochen Center for the Arts Director of Dance, shared selections from the ballets he choreographed and talked about the upcoming performances.
"It's always an exciting time when we're finding appropriately challenging repertoire for the students," says Morrissey.
The program includes music from the ballet "Raymonda" by Alexander Glazunov, selections from "Appalachian Spring" by Aaron Copland and additional choreography set to music by Cecile Chaminade and Germaine Tailleferre.
Interlochen's dance students also spent an intensive week working with choreographer Peter Sparling, former principal dancer of the Martha Graham Dance Company.

"[Peter] had such a whirlwind experience with the Martha Graham company and adventures of his own as a choreographer. To bring that wealth of experience to the students... is a great opportunity," says Morrissey.
