Air Station Traverse City crew rescues kids stranded in Lake Superior

The Coast Guard helicopter crew made the 290-mile trip in about two hours.

A Coast Guard helicopter crew from Air Station Traverse City rescued four kids stuck on a rock in Lake Superior.

This happened near Silver Bay, Minnesota.

Video of the rescue on the Air Station’s Facebook page shows the kids huddled together on the large rock and then being hoisted to safety.

The four kids were taken to an EMS crew waiting nearby and then reunited with their parents.

The Coast Guard says its helicopter crew made the 290-mile trip in about two hours.
