In our weekly email newsletter last week, we asked Classical IPR listeners to tell us what they thought of our Classical Happy Hour series this summer at the Little Fleet in Traverse City.
We received 18 responses to the survey. (Didn't have a chance to offer your feedback? Email amanda.sewell@interlochen.org with your thoughts on Classical Happy Hour)
All respondents said they were "likely" or "extremely likely" to recommend Classical Happy Hour to a friend, with a huge majority (82.4%) saying they were "very likely" to recommend the series.
Most respondents only attended one of the six concerts in the series, but 11% said they attended at least half of the concerts (three or more).
Some respondents noted that it was difficult to find seating, that they had difficulty hearing the music outdoors and that the weather was hot.
Additionally, respondents found the atmosphere fun, appreciated the availability of free classical music performances and asked that the series continue next summer.
We also received several suggestions for types or genres of music to include in future series.
Below, read a representative sample of responses we received.
It was wonderfully quirky to blend quality music in a downtown casual venue.
It was nice to get exposed to groups I wasn't familiar with.
It was great talking to the musicians and IPR staff.
I’m tired of the tourists taking over every part of TC. I listen to IPR faithfully all year long and I was really excited to come and see a performance. First time I couldn’t get a table and second time I was in the back corner and all I heard was buzzers going off for the food trucks. Although Little Fleet is a great spot, maybe find a less popular spot, not on the main strip. Us faithful listeners will find you.
Love the format of bringing "different" styles of music to an audience that may not have experienced or appreciated that musical genre previously.
Thanks to everyone who responded. Your feedback helps us offer programming and events that audiences will enjoy.
