Six Mile Strings

IPR’s Classical Happy Hour series begins June 25 with a performance by Six Mile Strings at The Little Fleet.

Detroit-based quartet Six Mile Strings recently sat down to chat about their upcoming performance in Traverse City. They’re the first of six ensembles featured in Interlochen Public Radio’s brand-new Classical Happy Hour series hosted at The Little Fleet each Wednesday from June 25 to July 30.

Formed in 2019 by close friends Yuri Popowycz, Natalie Frakes, Alycia Wilder and Tom Sullivan, Six Mile Strings (6MS) has built a reputation for vibrant performances and creative programming across many genres.

They have played everywhere from the Music Box at the Max M. and Marjorie S. Fisher Music Center in Detroit to outdoor venues at the tip of the Leelanau Peninsula as well as casual community concerts throughout northern Michigan.
