The Cerus Saxophone Quartet took top honors at the 52nd annual Fischoff National Chamber Music Competition, held this past weekend at the University of Notre Dame.
The Fischoff Competition, the largest chamber music competition in the nation, awarded Cerus Quartet its Gold Medal in the Senior Wind Division Category.
After clinching the top prize at Fischoff, the Cerus Quartet prepares to share their award-winning performance with Michigan listeners. On June 26, they’ll perform at the Oliver Art Center in Frankfort, MI — part of their residency with Interlochen Public Radio’s Sound Garden Project.
The Cerus Quartet formed in 2020 at the University of Michigan and has performed nationwide.
Other recent accolades include an Honorable Mention at the 2025 Plowman Chamber Music Competition, first prize at the 2024 MTNA National Chamber Music Competition, a silver medal at the 2023 Fischoff Chamber Music Competition and both the first prize and the Michigan Prize at the 2023 Briggs Chamber Music Competition.
