Dante Billeci invites you to march along the parade route and perform for thousands during the 2025 National Cherry Festival.

The National Cherry Festival Marching Band welcomes a new director: Dante Billeci, a music educator and performer with a growing presence in northern Michigan's musical community.

In addition to this role, Billeci is also the band director for Suttons Bay Public Schools and the conductor of the Northport Community Band.

The marching band is actively recruiting members for this year's parade, and anyone is welcome to join. " It's as simple as showing up to the first rehearsal," says Billeci. "You're welcome to just arrive with your instrument and we will have music for you."

Marching band rehearsals for festival season begin June 3 at St. Elizabeth Seton Middle School (SEAS) in Traverse City, leading up to two parade performances on July 3 and July 5 during the National Cherry Festival.

This year’s marching band will feature a range of traditional and contemporary pieces, including classic Sousa marches and an arrangement of "Happy" by Pharrell Williams.

Details about joining the ensemble, including rehearsal schedules performances, are available here.

Want to join? Email the director at dantebilleci@gmail.com.
