After years of operating from a home studio, music educator and multi-instrumentalist Martha Meek has expanded her teaching studio to a new location.
Now open at 321 N. St. Joseph in Suttons Bay, the Martha Meek Music Studio also expanded its roster of teachers and offerings in addition to the size of its space.
The studio now offers private music lessons for instruments including piano, guitar, bass guitar, ukulele, mandolin, brass, woodwinds, strings and voice.
Music Together Dandelion Kids is also housed in the new location, offering classes for babies, toddlers and preschoolers and their grownups.
The Martha Meek Music Studio is also home to the Ukulele Orchestra of Suttons Bay, which meets weekly on Tuesdays.
"This is truly a community-centered music education studio," Meek told IPR. "This new space gives us room to grow."
The public is invited to an open house for the studio's grand opening on Sunday, April 13 at 2 p.m.
The North Bay Celtic Band will perform and the Rev. Dr. Robin Carden will lead a blessing of the space.
