He received classical training at the University of Michigan and currently teaches at Bowling Green State University. He's active as a soloist, an ensemble member and a composer.
Northern Michigan audiences may know Jacob from his local performances with Westbound Situation and as half of the Warren & Flick duo.
Warren recently released a new single "Leanne Marie," which is his solo performance of a new original composition.

In the single, Warren uses several different unusual techniques, including harp harmonics and scordatura tuning.
He says that the sounds are inspired by an old music box that he mother had, which he would wind up and watch for hours.
Warren, inspired by the limited number of pitches permitted by the music box's rotating cylinder and tune metal strips, used a technique called harp harmonics to limit his own available pitches for the piece.
The score for "Leanne Marie" is available here.
And if you're wondering, yes, Leanne Marie is Jacob's mother.
