The Music Midweek Series will feature local and regional musicians in free performances on the third Wednesday of every month.
Each event in the series will include music performances as well as conversations with musicians about how their faith and artistry interact.
"This series is about hearing the music and learning how the artists themselves are transported in the making of it, where music and spirit collide," says the Rev. Linda Stephan, lead pastor at Central United Methodist.
The inaugural Music Midweek Series concert is Wednesday, Jan. 15 at 6 p.m. and features The Horns of Traverse, an ensemble led by Julie Schleif.
All performances in the series take place in the sanctuary of Central United Methodist Church. They are free and open to the public, and people of all faiths and spiritualities are welcome.
Upcoming Music Midweek Series concerts will include performances by pianist Michael Coonrod and songwriter and Grammy winner Andrew Dost.
