The manager of the Grand Traverse County Road Commission resigned Thursday evening during a closed session of a special board meeting.
Brad Kluczynski, who became manager in 2019, said he and the board "came to a decision last night and decided it was best for both of us to just part ways."
Road commission board member Jason Gillman said the board presented Kluczynski with a severance of four months' salary.
"It was a disagreement in direction, if anything," said Gillman. "We just kind of had a meeting of the minds [and said], 'You know, this isn't going to work.'"
Gillman said Kluczynski and the board are splitting on good terms, and that Kluczynski will likely release a longer public resignation statement within the next few days.
"This is just something that, in business, happens from time to time," said Gillman. "And you have to have a change in leadership to move things along in a different direction."
Road commission superintendent Dan Watkins will take over as acting interim manager until a replacement is found.
