Pianist Garrick Ohlssohn

Hear the DSO and pianist Garrick Ohlsson
perform live on Friday at 10:45 a.m. on Classical IPR.

Conductor Emeritus Leonard Slatkin will return to the stage on Friday for the DSO's performances of Stravinsky's Symphonies of Wind Instruments and Bartók's Music for Strings, Percussion and Celesta.

He'll also be joined by pianist Garrick Ohlsson for Brahms' Piano Concerto No. 1.

Ohlsson, who became the first and only American to win the International Chopin Piano Competition in 1970, began studies at The Juilliard School at 13 years old.

He's known for his unusually large repertoire, which includes more than 80 concertos.
