'Patience' opera watchalong party with Kids Commute!

Let's get "aesthetic" and watch Interlochen Arts Academy's production of Gilbert & Sullivan's "Patience" online together on Friday, May 13!

Gilbert and Sullivan's operetta "Patience" is all about what's "aesthetic" - that's "cool" in 1800s slang.

You're invited to a Kids Commute "Patience" online watchalong party, which we promise will be very "aesthetic."

It's happening Friday, May 13. The party starts on Zoom at 7 p.m., and then at 7:30 p.m. we'll stream the Interlochen Arts Academy Opera production of "Patience" together.

To get the Zoom invitation and link, email kidscommute@interlochen.org or text the Kids Commute quizlet number (231-237-7482) with the email address you want to use for the party. We'll add you to the invite!

For the party, make sure you have two devices available so that you can stream the opera on one and hang out at the party on the other! Click here for information about how to view the live stream of the production.

Join the party any time after 7 p.m., and come wearing that you think is your most "aesthetic" look. (You can also wear your pajamas if you want - those are always aesthetic!)

We recommend having paper and writing or drawing utensils nearby - we'll make our own emojis and reactions to show off during the opera.

Since this is a very English show, we suggest having some very English snacks and tea as refreshments.

During intermission, we'll meet the director, Dr. Laura Osgood Brown, and some of the cast members from the production. After the show, we'll have a special afterglow reception with the musicians.

If you want to attend the production of "Patience" in person, it's happening Friday, May 13 and Saturday, May 14 at 7:30 p.m. in Harvey Theater at Interlochen Center for the Arts. For more information and tickets, click here.
