Bus Causes Pileup In Traverse City

<p><a href="mailto:payettepc@interlochen.org"><em>By Rachel Lane</em></a></p> <p>Police in Traverse City say a public bus caused a five-vehicle crash on Division Street Monday.</p> <p>Police allege a 71-year-old driver with the Bay Area Transit Authority rear-ended a car on Division Street, which created a domino effect.</p> <p>The driver of a third vehicle was treated at the hospital and released earlier today.</p> <p>The BATA bus driver was cited for violating basic speed law.</p> <p>BATA Executive Director Tom Menzel says the driver has been placed on administrative leave until they can evaluate the circumstances. BATA is reviewing videotape on the bus from the crash.</p>
