The Dhaseleer Events Barn in Charlevoix will hold a Memorial Weekend Pig Roast and Concert Saturday night, with dinner from 6 to 8 p.m. and music following with Lindsay Lou and the Flatbellys.
It's a fun space. The barn has been in the Dahseleer family since the 1920s, originally built in the 1870s. The family has restored it and made it into an old-world space with tin seed signs, re-done floors and a well-lit stage.
It's Lindsay Lou and the Flatbellys performing this weekend. Play the audio above for a sample of the sound. The band is lead by Lindsay Rachel Petroff, an alumna of Interlochen and Michigan State. All that training, and she says she's been most influenced simply by being enveloped in Michigan's flourishing folk scene. Members of the Flatbellys play mandolin, banjo and upright bass.
Tickets are $30 each, or $50/couple.
