Sybarite5 is one of the most innovative chamber ensembles active today. They are champions of new music by young American composers, and their programming choices are as eclectic as they are surprising.
Join Classical IPR this Friday night at 8 p.m. for a presentation of a recent concert Sybarite5 gave at Interlochen Center for the Arts. Sybarite5 performed music by the 20th-century Argentinian composer Astor Piazzolla, brand new works by Dan Visconti and Shawn Conley, and the group’s own arrangement of several songs by the band Radiohead.
The program was announced from the stage. The pieces the group performed are as follows:
Piotor Szwewczyk, The Rebel
Dan Visconti, Hitchhiker’s Tales: Black Bend & Pedal to the Metal
Komitas, Two Armenian Folk Songs
Radiohead, Weird Fishes; No Surprises; Paranoid Android
Daniel Bernard Roumain, Kompa for Toussaint
Kenji Bunch, Allemande pour Tout le Monde
Shawn Conley, Yann’s Flight
Astor Piazzolla, Milongo del Angel & Muerte del Angel
