In Studio A with tubist JunMing Wen

Interlochen Center for the Arts

JunMing Wen is a tubist and a senior at Interlochen Arts Academy. He grew up in Guangzhou, China.

JunMing Wen visited IPR's Studio A to perform the Romanza movement from the tuba concerto by Ralph Vaughan Williams. He was joined by collaborative pianist Ya-Ju Chuang.

He told Classical IPR why he chose the tuba as his instrument when he was a child, and why he would now choose a career playing the tuba over a career driving for the Scuderia Ferrari Formula 1 racing team. He also explained why he keeps his mouthpiece with him at all times.
