National Writers Series: Geraldine Brooks

Geraldine Brooks started her writing career as a reporter—first at her hometown newspaper in Sydney, Australia, and later as a foreign correspondent for the Wall Street Journal. Then she started writing books and has published 6 novels, all of them historical fiction inspired by real people and events. Her latest novel is based on the life and legacy of a famous racehorse and is called, simply, “Horse.” Geraldine spoke with fellow writer Anne-Marie Oomen at the City Opera House in Traverse City.
