Detroit Zoological Society CEO Ron Kagan says that the Detroit Zoo has been committed to growing its sustainability initiatives for nearly two decades.
Many of us have fond childhood memories of visiting a zoo. However, over the years views on zoos have evolved from a focus on visitor curiosity and entertainment into conservation. Ron Kagan helped push innovations for both people and animals during his 28 years as head of the Detroit Zoo, the largest zoo in Michigan. Ron recently announced that he will retire this summer.
