KIDS COMMUTE - Ragtime Week! Friday

It’s the final day of Ragtime Week on Kids Commute from Interlochen Public Radio. We’ve saved the best-known ragtime composer so that we could give you a special Friday treat. Our week to date has covered compositions by Ernest Hogan, Tom Turpin, James Scott and Joseph Lamb. All of them are really big names in ragtime music, but the biggest of all is Scott Joplin, best known for his composition “The Entertainer.” He was also a pioneer for all composers, not just ragtime. Find out what made him a leader in the music business, learn about some of his other compositions and find out the answer to this week’s Kids Commute Quizlet. If you’ve gotten the answer correct, you have a Kids Commute Prize Pack heading your way. All of this from your source for classical music for kids - Kids Commute from Interlochen Public Radio.
