Glen Arbor Township Cemetery finds “new” owner

Linda Dewey

On Forest Haven Road by M-22, through stone gates and into the forest, lays the Glen Arbor Township Cemetery.

But in 2015 a storm brought down surrounding trees, leaving the cemetery difficult to reach and in need of some TLC.

That’s where Linda Dewey comes in. She partnered with Glen Lake Schools and a tree company to do some work at the cemetery.

From there, it was discovered that the cemetery is owned by Glen Arbor Township, and is not the property of National Parks, as originally thought.

Dewey sat down with IPR’s Kendra Carr to discuss the partnership and the recent discovery.

Kendra Carr joined IPR as the All Things Considered host in 2019. She previously worked at WMOM in Ludington as the News Director. In 2017, WMOM received the Michigan Association of Broadcasters "Station of the Year" award.
