Up North Lowdown, Ep. 28: Arts and adaptation

Two stories about the arts for you this week: One about a closure in Traverse City, the other about how artists are adapting to climate change.

The organization Arts for All of Northern Michigan announced this week that it will close its doors at the end of November.

For 27 years, the organization provided creative spaces for people of all abilities.

And its demise should be a red flag for other organizations, says Mary Gillett, leader of the Northwest Michigan Arts and Culture Network.

She says northern Michigan's arts scene is in fragile condition.

We'll also spend a little time with Michigan writer Anne-Marie Oomen, as part of IPR's new series "Fresh Coast Creatives."

Contributor Max Howard tells us how Oomen's work is changing as the climate does the same thing.

Thanks for listening!
