In Studio A with Quiana Lynell and Interlochen Arts Academy student jazz musicians

Quiana Lynell is a singer, songwriter and composer. She was recently named the winner of the Sarah Vaughan International Jazz Vocal Competition.

Lynell visited Interlochen Arts Academy to work with students in the jazz and singer-songwriter programs. She also came to IPR's Studio A, where she performed with two different student jazz combos.

Lynell spoke with Classical IPR about the importance of entrepreneurship for musicians. She also explained how the musicians in a jazz combo decide who's "in charge" during a performance.

She also let us in on her very secret talent of making spot-on animal sounds. Listen to the complete interview and both numbers below.
