88.7 FM is at low power, Classical temporarily on 105.5

Dear Classical IPR listeners,

We are pleased that listeners can continue to tune in to Classical IPR at WSRJ 105.5 FM. We are glad to bring into many homes and cars the sounds that so many listeners find synonymous with life in northern Michigan.

We are broadcasting from WSRJ 105.5 FM as a temporary solution while we await repairs to WIAA 88.7 FM. While we recognize that this additional broadcast does not restore service for all WIAA 88.7 FM listeners, it will allow most people in the Grand Traverse region to tune in to Classical IPR.

Meanwhile 88.7 is on at low power. We are waiting for our tower crew to work again once the shelter in place orders have been reduced or lifted. We are sorry for the problem which was entirely unexpected at a site we rebuilt just two years ago. (This issue does not affect our other stations.)

We are grateful to Northern Radio of Michigan for making the temporary broadcast on 105.5 possible. 

As always, listeners can tune in to Classical IPR online at interlochenpublicradio.org/listen-online. Listeners in the Traverse City area can also tune in to Classical IPR at 94.7 FM.
