In Traverse City, "Biomass" was ubiquitous last year in local debate over power generation and alternative energy. But there were some strong objections to plans for a new in-town power plant that would have burned wood.
The concept seems to have quickly fallen back to relative obscurity.
That leaves an open question for Traverse City Light & power: How will the city get its power supply in the future? There's an open house underway tonight at the governmental center in Traverse City.
Utilities everywhere are facing the same question.
