Kids Commute - Request Week! Thursday

It’s Request Week on Kids Commute from Interlochen Public Radio!  The Kids Commute team thought it would be great to celebrate the end of the school year by putting the Kids Commuters in charge of selecting the music for this week.  So far, we’ve heard two pieces of film music chosen by Brendan and Ruth. For yesterday’s episode, Uma chose, “Also Sprach Zarathustra,” by German composer Richard Strauss.  Kids Commuter, Kelsey, has requested a piece of piano music for today’s show. In fact, it’s one of the most popular pieces of piano music in all of classical music. Polish composer Frederic Chopin’s Polonaise in A-flat major is also known as the “Heroic Polonaise.”  Find out why Kelsey chose this piece, and some history behind its composer. After the music, we’ll give you another hint for this week’s Kids Commute Quizlet. Text us the correct answer and we’ll mail you a Kids Commute Prize Pack. We’re hope your enjoying the music chosen by your fellow Kids Commuters during Request Week on Kids Commute from Interlochen Public Radio.
