Our public education system is mediocre at best. That's the opinion of more 7,000 Michigan residents who were asked how public schools are doing. (They tend to have a more favorable view of their local school.) Their ideas for improvement are not quite as dramatic as the ones that get most of the attention in Lansing these days. Almost everyone surveyed said do a better job training and supporting teachers. More online learning came in last place.
