Last night in Charlevoix, volunteers lined the street for their annual petunia planting. Motorists coming through town this summer will once again drive thru a corridor of brightly colored flowers. The town's been "petunia-ed" by the group "Keep Charlevoix Beautiful, Inc." since 1982. And all these years, Dale Boss has been watering those flowers - usually creeping along the street early in the morning in his specially designed GM truck: The "Petunia Limousine."
Dale will be 79 next week. IPR's Linda Stephan ran into Dale on his inaugural trip through town this year. Listen to the audio for a sound postcard.
