Spring Fund Drive

Mar 21, 2015

It’s the last day of our Spring Fund Drive at Interlochen Public Radio! Help us make our goal today by going to classicalipr.org, iprnews.org or calling 1-800-442-9422. Thanks to the over 500 people who have donated this week, but we’re not done yet and we need your support! If IPR is an important part of your life, please give now. Thanks.

The Interlochen Center for the Arts has hired a new leader for IPR News Radio, Classical IPR, and its digital services.

Sally Eisele has spent the last 10 years managing an award-winning newsroom at WBEZ in Chicago, an organization known for its innovative programs and digital services.

Eisele says she comes to northern Michigan inspired by the potential for growth, and inspired by an arts organization where “creative content is born.”

INTERLOCHEN, MI – Sally Eisele, a 30+-year veteran of the radio industry, has been named general manager of Interlochen Public Radio (IPR).  Eisele was most recently the managing editor of WBEZ, where she was involved in its transformation from a traditional broadcast model to Chicago Public Media, a multi-platform media organization that actively uses digital channels to attract new audiences while still serving the radio station’s devoted listener base.

Wait! Does Morning Edition sound a little different?

Nov 12, 2014

Morning Edition will have a little different sound starting Monday, November 17th. Some of your other favorite shows will too. Probably most of these changes will go unnoticed. But, if you’re someone who plans your morning routine around something that happens, like clockwork, on the radio -- we suggest having a watch handy until you adjust to our new rhythm.

IPR Honored As Public Radio Station Of The Year

Mar 13, 2014

IPR won several Michigan Association of Broadcasters awards last night, including Public Radio Station of the Year. It was a proud moment for IPR, and gratifying to have some of this fine programming recognized and valued in this venue. Our goal is always to produce material that is interesting and relevant to northern Michigan.

Congratulations to each producer, host, reporter -- and to the entire staff -- for making IPR shine in our community!
