World renowned flutists Sir James Galway and Lady Jeanne Galway are visiting Interlochen Center for the Arts this week.

Ahead of their arrival in northern Michigan, Sir James spoke with Classical IPR from his home across the Atlantic.

The World Youth Symphony Orchestra presents its fifth concert of the season this Sunday evening.

Erik Nielsen will conduct the young artists in Andromède by Augusta Holmès and selections from Götterdämmerung by Richard Wagner.

Interlochen Public Radio presented a live broadcast from Bay Harbor. 

Sounds of the Season, Interlochen's highly-anticipated holiday show, is performed by Interlochen Arts Academy students and faculty. It is a family-friendly concert centered around this festive time of year.

The Interlochen Arts Academy Band and Choir present holiday songs, with favorites for all ages. This annual celebration has become a tradition for many local residents, with classical holiday music and a sing-along. The show also features Interlochen Public Radio's own Kate Botello!

We’ll revisit this September’s Hill Auditorium performance featuring the Philadelphia Orchestra conducted by Yannick Nézet-Séguin with violin soloist Lisa Batiashvili.

The concert has the Tchaikovsky Violin Concerto, a suite from Nico Muhly’s opera Marnie, and the Symphonic Dances of Sergei Rachmaninoff.

Interlochen Public Radio, the University Musical Society and the New York Philharmonic presented a  live program from Hill Auditorium on November 19th. It will be rebroadcast  on Classical IPR this Friday, December 8th at 8pm.

The program features commentary, interviews, and the performance of Don Quixote by Strauss and Bernstein's  Symphony No. 3 "Kaddish" conducted by Leonard Slatkin.

Along with the New York Philharmonic, performers include Speaker Jeremy Irons, Soprano Tamara Wilson, the UMS Choral Union, and the MSU Children's Choir.
