This week, Classical IPR in Concert features performances by the Interlochen Arts Academy Orchestra from the 2019-2020 school year.

Leslie B. Dunner conducted the Symphony No. 2 by Johannes Brahms in the fall of 2019 and the Symphony No. 5 by Dmitri Shostakovich in early 2020. This episode also includes selections from The Sleeping Beauty by Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky.

Earlier this year, before changes brought on by the Covid-19 pandemic, Interlochen Arts Academy activities were in full swing.

The IAA Orchestra performed with their peers in other disciplines on a showcase concert in Miami, Florida.

Leslie Dunner conducted the orchestra's performance of the Symphony No. 5 by Dmitri Shostakovich.

This Thursday evening, Sir James Galway is the featured soloist with the Interlochen Arts Academy Orchestra. Leslie B. Dunner conducts.

Tune in at 7 p.m. to hear commerical recordings by James Galway.Then at 7:25, we'll go live to Corson Auditorium for the main event. The concert downbeat is at 7:30 p.m.

The program includes the Flute Concerto No. 2  by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart and the Second Symphony of Johannes Brahms.

World renowned flutists Sir James Galway and Lady Jeanne Galway are visiting Interlochen Center for the Arts this week.

Ahead of their arrival in northern Michigan, Sir James spoke with Classical IPR from his home across the Atlantic.

This week Leslie B. Dunner conducts the World Youth Symphony Orchestra. You can hear it live on Classical IPR!

The program includes Mozart's Symphony No. 38 and Stravinsky's Rite of Spring.

This spring NPR's From the Top taped an episode at Interlochen Center for the Arts. The episode will be on Classical IPR this Saturday.

Actor and musician Damon Gupton hosts the program with co-host and collaborative pianist Michelle Cann.

Dr. Leslie B. Dunner conducts the Interlochen Arts Academy Orchestra this Friday night.

Classical IPR brings you the concert live from Corson Auditorium.

On the program will be a suite from "The River" by Duke Ellington, Leonard Bernstein’s Symphonic Dances from "West Side Story" and Malambo from "Estancia" by Alberto Ginastera.
