Jeffrey Cobb

This week on Classical IPR in Concert, we feature the Northwestern Michigan College Concert Band and Choir concert from earlier this year, prior to pandemic-related closures.

The program will feature music for band, selections for vocal ensembles, and works for the groups together.

Patricia Brumbaugh conducts the band. Jeffrey Cobb conducts choral ensembles and is the director of the Music Department at NMC. The concert also includes compositions by Jeffrey Cobb.

In the midst of a pandemic, a brand new music ensemble has been created in Northern Michigan.

Jeffrey Cobb, Director of Music Programs at Northwestern Michigan College, quickly assembled the NMC Virtual Choir. He spoke with Classical IPR about the project.

Cobb arranged "Amazing Grace" and "How Can I Keep from Singing" for a virtual SATB choir and instrumental musicians.

Canticum Novum is a choral ensemble based at Northwestern Michigan College. They'll perform this Friday night in Traverse City.

Their director Jeffrey Cobb visited Interlochen Public Radio with some Canticum Novum recordings.
