Standing atop an outcrop in Wisconsin, Marcia Bjornerud thinks about time differently than a lot of people. She says we’re actually kind of a time illiterate society – most people don’t have a good sense of how extremely long the geologic chapters of earth’s history were. In her book, Timefulness: How Thinking Like a Geologist Can Help Save the World, Marcia points out the many challenges our planet has weathered, and that its long memory might hold the key to facing climate change today.
