Revisit a 1943 radio broadcast from Interlochen's National Music Camp featuring both Ferde Grofé and Percy Grainger conducting performances of their own music.

In the summer of 1943, a world war was raging.

In response, all of the orchestra concert radio broadcasts from Interlochen's National Music Camp were called "Music in Wartime."

A Music in Wartime concert from July 24, 1943 was particularly remarkable.

The concert featured two very famous composers, Percy Grainger and Ferde Grofé, conducting their own music on the same concert, one right after the other.

This program includes portions of the radio broadcast of that concert, which originally aired on WKAR and was preserved on transcription disc.

The program also includes later Interlochen student performances of some other pieces of music that were performed on the 1943 concert but that were not captured in the transcription disc recording.
