Wildlife Officials: Keep Food Away From Bears

<p><em>From Staff Reports</em></p> <p>State wildlife officials are urging people in northern Michigan to put away food sources for bears, such as bird feeders, grills and trash cans. Bears are coming out of hibernation and looking for food.</p> <p>State officials say it's not safe for a bear to become accustomed to man-made food sources.</p> <p>Last fall, a hunter was attacked by a bear near Petoskey, in Emmet County. Officials say that bear had been fed by humans.</p>
