State agency overseeing funeral homes responds to fetal remains scandal Stateside’s conversation with Julia Dale

  • The state’s department of Licensing and Regulatory Affairs is responsible for inspecting the two Michigan funeral homes where fetal remains were found this month. Julia Dale, director of the Corporations, Securities and Commercial Licensing Bureau within the agency, provides updates on the cases.

  • Eduardo Beckett is Emilio Gutierrez-Soto’s attorney. Gutierrez-Soto is a Mexican journalist who is seeking asylum in the U.S. On Monday, his case went back to an immigration judge, Robert Hough, who lost parts of the case file before the hearing.
