The leaders of Munson Healthcare say the problems facing hospitals are pushing them towards consolidation. But a proposal to merge Munson with Grand Rapids-based Spectrum appears to have suffered a setback last week when Munson's President and CEO resigned. Traverse City is home to one of the finest hospitals in the country but the new head says he has to look further down the road than a few years if the region wants to maintain the level of care it now enjoys.
