Here's today's Kids Commute:

Today, we bring you a musical tribute to RikiTikkiTavi, a brave mongoose in a story by Rudyard Kipling. A mongoose, is an animal that kind of looks like a cross between a weasel and a cat.

In the story, RikiTikkiTavi is adopted by a family living in India. Two mean cobra snakes, named Nag and Nagaina, live in the garden. They don’t like mongooses because mongooses are known for fighting with cobras, and they don’t like humans because humans are nice to mongooses! Late one night, Nag sneaks into the house to find someone to bite, but brave RikkiTikkiTavi finds him first. They get in a fight, RikkiTikkiTavi wins, and the family is saved!! You can read the complete story, HERE.

Can you imagine the brave little mongoose fighting the mean cobra snake during this song?

Many, many thanks to the generous and wonderful people of  the Young People's Chorus of New York City. They were kind enough to share the lyrics to "Riki Tikki Tavi," with us, so we can all sing along! Thanks and love, YPC!
