KIDS COMMUTE - Prodigy Week! Wednesday

We’re about halfway through Prodigy Week on Kids Commute from Interlochen Public Radio. This week, we’re learning about great performers who made their debut at very young ages. Today’s prodigy is American violinist, Sarah Chang. Her parents are musicians from Korea. When she was five years old, Sarah was admitted into the prestigious Juilliard School of Music. The next year, she began studying with another famous violinist, Isaac Stern, a mentor she continues to meet with. Today, we’ll hear a recording of Niccolo Paganini’s Caprice No. 1 in E major, Opus 1. Sarah made this recording when she was just ten years old. Once we hear this fantastic performance, we’ll give you the second hint to this week’s Kids Commute Quizlet.
