We’re glad you could join us for the conclusion of Prodigy Week on Kids Commute from Interlochen Public Radio. This week, we’ve listened to debut recordings of some terrific child prodigies; people who developed adult-sized expertise at an exceptionally young age. The Kids Commute team thought it would be fun to highlight a modern child prodigy, Lucie Horsch. She was born into a family of professional musicians in the Netherlands. She began her musical studies at the age of five, and by nine years old, she was performing on television and became a national sensation. Even though she’s already recorded her first album, she continues to study recorder and piano in the Netherlands. Today, we listen to a very impressive performance of the third movement from Antonio Vivaldi’s Flute Concerto in C minor from her debut album.
