Happy Friday! Welcome to Day Five of Greek & Roman Mythology Week on IPR's Kids Commute - classical music for kids!
Today, we'll hear music by Italian composer Ottorino Respighi. He wrote a piece of music based on the famous painting by Botticelli - "Birth of Venus." Venus, the Goddess of Love, is born full formed from seafoam, and she floats onto shore on a shell. She's blown by Zephyrs - the gods of gentle breezes, and the Goddess of Spring waits with a beautiful gown to dress her when she arrives.
